White nights has been the symbol of St.-Petersburg for more than two centuries. It combines such opposing entities as the darkness of night and the light of day. We've picked the name because we are from the beautiful city of St.- Petersburg and the name speaks for itself. But it has a deeper meaning as well. Life has darker and lighter sides. Some people see only the bright and easier side of it, while others tend to see only the darker side. Some were thrown into the darkness by chance or by fate and not all found their way out. We've created this site to help them to see light in the darkness as we do. It is not easy ;the way down is easier than the way up; but still it is possible. This site is dedicated to those who have seen the light amid the darkness of suffering , who struggled against odds and to those who want to join and help.That is why we have named it White Nights. Come and meet us.

The chairwoman of our club is Marina Sychicova. She lost her leg when she was 3 years old. For about 15 years Marina has been working in the institute of prosthetics and she sees suffering and pain every day. She understands all the problems of people who have lost hope and are frustrated.

Many of our club members have met each other in the Institute of Prosthetics in St. Petersburg. Our common problem has helped us to establish a closer relationship. All of us have their own sad stories: the suffering that will continue throughout our whole lives. But in spite of all that, we do not despair and hope to meet through our page people with the same problems and interests who are able to help us.
